Blood Moon Halloween Kava Mocktail

Blood Moon Halloween Kava Mocktail

Why You’ll Love It

This is a simple Halloween kava mocktail with spooky vibes: inky pomegranate color, citrus zip, and gingery fizz with Art of Kava Feo. It’s easy to batch for a party, totally non-alcoholic, and looks dramatic while being simple to make.

Blood Moon Kava Mocktail

Yield: 1 drink · Time: 5 minutes (plus a quick kava brew)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz pomegranate juice

  • 1 oz fresh lime juice

  • 2 oz prepared Art of Kava Feo kava

  • 3–4 oz ginger beer, to top

  • Ice

Spooky garnish:

  • Black rim: mix fine sugar with a pinch of cocoa powder for a “black sand” rim

  • “Eyeballs”: canned lychees stuffed with blueberries on a pick

  • “Bats”: two blackberries on a pick with a tiny orange-peel triangle

Kava Quick Prep

  1. Add 2 Tbsp (12–14 g) Feo to a strainer bag.

  2. Knead in 6 oz cool–lukewarm water for 5–7 minutes; strain and chill.

Build

  1. Rim a chilled rocks glass with the cocoa-sugar “black sand.” Fill with ice.

  2. In a shaker/jar with ice, combine pomegranate, lime, and 2 oz chilled kava. Shake gently.

  3. Strain into the glass, top with ginger beer, and add your spooky garnish.

Party Pitcher (8 drinks)

  • 2 cups pomegranate juice

  • 1 cup fresh lime juice

  • 2 cups chilled kava brew (make with 1 cup water + 4 Tbsp Feo)

  • 3–4 cups ginger beer, added just before serving

Stir everything except ginger beer in a pitcher with ice. Add ginger beer at the table. Garnish each glass.

Optional fog effect: Drop a tiny piece of food-grade dry ice into the pitcher only for table-side mist. Do not serve or swallow dry ice pieces.

Tips & Swaps

  • Sweeter: add 1–2 tsp agave.

  • Redder “blood moon”: muddle a few raspberries or blackberries in the shaker.

Art of Kava provides the perfect kava backdrop for this tart-sweet, refreshing Halloween mocktail. Enjoy it while handing out candy to the kids or at your block party! It makes the perfect drink to sip for simple indulgence while still staying away from booze. Happy Halloween!
